Swiss Quiche at the Studer's House - Highland Park
A gorgeous Gruyere Cheese Cake (as it was called) from Cooking in Switzerland by Marianne Haltenbach. The interesting thing about the cookbook is that it is designed to look like it's old (browned paper and stains of the pages, for example). We had a nice relaxing meal on the Studer's new deck at their house in Highland Park. For an African-American woman from Detroit, Cindy sure can cook some mean Swiss food (her fondue is crazy good, too.) Her husband, Stefan, is a pro photograper who, you guessed it, is originally from Switzerland.

That looks quite good. How was it?
It was amazing. Like a quiche, but lighter.
