About Me
More About Me
Thanks for visiting Left on Red. The blog title comes from one of the peculiarities of life here:
almost without exception, the only way to turn left from the majority of the heavily trafficked
two way streets of L.A. is to take the left turn when the light turns red, since oncoming traffic
keeps flowing through the yellow light. I've been writing this blog since 2002, on subjects ranging from career,
arts and culture, food, advertising, parenting and anything else that crosses my mind.
One of my favorite hobbies is spending time in the kitchen. I like combing through vintage Gourmet
magazines, culinary web sites and blogs, and favorite cookbooks looking for new,
healthy, flavorful and economical things to cook for my family and friends.
I earn my living in advertising, and love working for my company, DDB. The rapidly changing world
of brand marketing, digital advertising, consumer insight and media technology makes it
an exciting and fascinating time to be in the advertising business.
Recently, I've started experimenting with micro-lending and micro-finance programs for entrepreneurs in developing nations, through the California-based organization, Kiva.org.
I also created a miles per gallon (MPG) calculator because I started to obsess with reducing my fuel consumption. The MPG calculator is available on Google Docs.

I wished I'd been there. Was at home all alone with no one to cheer with. What a beautiful moment!!
